Jean-Francois was an absolutely wonderful host, and we enjoyed every bit of our stay in Marahau at his lovely cottage! It was one of our best Air BnB experiences – fantastic views and amazing location. A very short 2 min drive down to town or to the entrance of the park. It was a gorgeous space, and it felt very private. Would recommend to anyone and would stay again if we ever make our way back to Abel Tasman!

The apartment has everything one would need to stay quite some time in the beautiful Abel Tasman area. Jean-Francois has made the place very charming and inviting so that one can truly relax and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature.

We loved our stay with Jean. We were welcomed to the beautiful apartment with fresh flowers on the table and a bottle of wine. Jean left us to it but if we needed anything he happily helped us out. Very friendly and beautiful, relaxing place to stay. Would 100% go there again.

Beautiful accommodation with vista views of Abel Tasman from the kitchen and patio area. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, with good bathroom and kitchenette (we cooked most meals during our stay). Would definitely recommend!

After a hectic few days a staying a new place every night we wanted a bit of space and downtime. This was a great choice. Jean Francois was an excellent host. He lives on the property in a seperate building , so he was around if you needed some information ( very worthwhile to ask) , but otherwise he was very discrete. The pictures on the website do not do the place justice with a giant upstairs master and dressing room. Also the garden was great to hang out in, read, play chess- or for the kids to help water the plants and play rugby. Also check out Dave at the entrance to Jean Francois’ place if you or your kids love archery. A real character who makes his own bows , and will happily teach you how to use them. Well worth a visit!

An amazing place to stay: a home away from home. Jean-Francois is extremely friendly and quick to reply. We were able to drop off luggage early. The place itself is fabulous. It has an amazing view and a lovely outdoor table where you can enjoy the views whilst having breakfast or a glass of wine. Jean Francois provided a bottle of wine which was a lovely and a thoughtful touch. The place itself is great. Very clean and spacious. Free wifi. Great kitchenette to cook a simple meal; fridge; and he even provided a clothes rack and pegs to be able to hand wash a few basic items which is extremely helpful when you’re travelling. Definitely recommended. Would recommend Marahau if you’re wanting to visit the Abel Tasman National Park and would recommend staying at Jean-Francois’s place.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in Jean-Francois’s cottage. He was very communicative and welcomed us with a bottle of local wine. The cottage was comfortable and conveniently located to town. It is very close to Abel Tasman, and has a beautiful view from the garden. Would highly recommend to other visitors!
